Item 54
We had to take a blog from yesterday, and reproduce it on paper and ink, wood carvings, clay markings and paintings on a rock... never did we think it could be this fun...
Pen and ink; fine, and then a bit of fun with the carving, but we were stumped when it came to the clay. Where could we get some clay to mark? One younger member suggested breaking into the school art supplies, but soon after, some wisdom came out with the idea of the BMX track down the road. It has been raining on and off, so it stands to reason that this clay and muck would be beautifully sloppy.
So, at a point when the skies seemed clearest the 4 of us walked down the street, shovel and bags in hand to collect some of said clay; a short and simple task by anyones standards. We got there, looked around, and realised it was perfect! The clay was exactly what we needed!!
But... as we started to quarry some out of the ground, guess what? It started raining again! This wasnt too worrying, hoods up and heads down, and faster work, but then as we finished up and headed off, it really did start to rain. The wiser half of the group quickly began to run, carrying all the equipment with them, while the other 2 lingered, marching in the rain. Marching you ask? Yes, full on, Boys Brigade, LEFT LEFT WHEEEEEEL marching!
As the more fortunate of the expedition reached the back porch, and dry and warmth, it began to hail. Yes, hail! This is the point at which lower in IQ of the quartet realised that it wasnt the appropriate time for About Turns and such, and also began to run, getting pelted and soaked in the process.
And so, at the end of the day a clay marking blog was created, but at the expense of a sniffle or 2, a hot shower, and several Milos to come...
